Running Reflections: Blue Skies at the 10th Colfax Marathon
There's nothing like waking up at 5:30 on a Sunday morning and greeting some of your best running friends as they gather for a relay race! Last Sunday was a sunny day amongst many rainy days in May, and Colorado Frontrunners took advantage of the nice weather to show up in full force at Colfax Half Marathon Race and Marathon Relay. Mike ran 1:36, one of his fastest times for a half marathon. Brian went just slightly faster at 1:32. Ed, Chris, and Jay all ran around 1:50. Lucas ran a strong first leg of a corporate marathon relay team with his co-workers at a quick pace, faster than 7:00/mile. And last but not least, the Colorado Frontrunners relay team, named "He Brakes For Rainbows," ran a blistering 2:52:30 for 16th place overall, out of 1,077 teams. The team was comprised of David, Steve, Ben, Douglas, and Andrew.
Great job to all of our runners and the many spectators including Alex and Jen C, who happened to see Douglas, Steve, and Ben as they gathered on the west side of town after the relay. Next stop for our Boulder runners is the Bolder Boulder 10k and then it's onto the Denver Big Gay 5K where we will all meet up later in June to celebrate our speed and pride!
