How do I get additional information?
It's easy just find a run that fits your time and location. You'll find a group leader there who will be happy to provide you additional information. You can also use the contact page and additional information will be sent to you. You can ask to be added to our email list giving you weekly updates on important club information and happenings.
Do I have to be a fast runner to participate?
No, we welcome people of all abilities. Most of our weekly courses are out and back using city streets or park trails. After reaching the distance that you are comfortable with you can turn around and return to the starting point. Everyone is free to turn around at any point they wish. Please do not feel you have to train before you show up for a run; part of the reason we're here is so we can make it easier for people to get into an exercise routine with others. You will always find someone who will be running or walking at your particular speed.
Can I bring my dog to run?
We have a few members who bring along their dogs for our weekly runs/walks. We welcome those who wish to bring their dogs.
Is it just a running/walking club?
Yes, we do a lot of running and walking, but we also socialize after runs. Food is always the ultimate goal after a fun run or walk. In addition to our regular dining out after our runs during the week, the club also participates in a number of athletic and social events throughout the year. You can check out our calendar page to see a sample of some of the events and activities we engage in.
Do I need to be a member to participate?
The club welcomes everybody to run or walk with us, regardless of age, race, sex, sexual orientation, athletic ability, or financial situation. We encourage those who join us regularly to become paid members, in order to receive member benefits. Membership fees help us maintain financial stability and less reliance on fundraisers. Individual memberships will be $20.
What other benefits do I receive through my memberships?
The club welcomes everybody to run or walk with us. We are working on the details of benefits of membership, but we hope to provide dues paying members monthly email updates, invitations to club-sponsored events & social gatherings, and discounts at local running stores. Additionally, if response to membership is strong, we will be offering a club T-shirt to all dues paying members at wholesale cost. Membership fees are used to cover our general operating expenses such as membership fees and insurance with the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) and other costs associated with operating the club such as web hosting fees, post office fees, state licenses, and promotional materials.
Is it Colorado Frontrunners or Denver Frontrunners?
The club started as Denver Frontrunners with a 510(c)3 non-profit status. As our club started to grow and expand our outreach into other Colorado areas such as Boulder, we started discussing how to make the club more inclusive of all areas, we decided a name change was in order. So our group decided to change the name to Colorado Frontrunners. We are in the process of changing all legal entities to the more inclusive name: Colorado Frontrunners so that all GLBT runners and walkers in Colorado will feel they have a home.
