July 9th @6:30PM
This week we are exploring a new route, Doudy Draw.
Meeting Location
Marshall Mesa Trail Head located at 5258 Eldorado Springs Dr, Boulder, CO 80303.
We will meet at the Marshall Mesa Trail Head at 6:30PM and carpool over to Doudy Draw at 6:35.
Doudy Draw Trail is located at 4100 Eldorado Springs Drive.
Why the Carpool?
This week we are running/hiking at Doudy Draw Trail due to the closure of Marshall Mesa Trailhead for state coal mine mitigation work.
Doudy Draw is a trail in Boulder County Open Spaces. Vehicles that are registered with Boulder County can park at the trail for no cost, however those that are not are required to obtain a daily or annual permit to park at the trail.
You are welcome to meet us at the Doudy Draw Trailhead if you have a pass or are registered with Boulder County and our car pool is available to anyone who does not.
Doudy Draw Trail
The running route along the Doudy Draw Trail is approximately five miles with roughly 600-foot elevation gain. The trail meanders through the open spaces along a south trending ridge crossing the Community Ditch and merges with the Flatirons Vista Trails where we turn back on the trail. Hikers can turn back around the intersection of the Spring Brooke Loop Trail rough 1.5 miles in.
A small group gathers for a lap or two around Sloans Lake on Tuesday's at 6:30pm. Enter the North parking lot (3rd entrance east of Sheridan) on Byron Street. Participants gather near the boathouse along the path.
Membership is not a requirement for participation in our club, but it does help cover insurance, fees for International Frontrunners and other club expenses.
